It really is coming!

I am very happy to inform everyone (meaning the *maybe* four readers I have) that Autumn really truly is on its way. No, really!! I have seen enough hints of colour tinting in the tree leaves to now know that it isn’t any form of delusion, wishful thinking, or effects of drought. And on the way home from the gym it was actually cool enough for me to need to put the car windows up! That says a lot as my air conditioning doesn’t work AND I was coated in sweat. You’re welcome for the attractive imagery there.

I adore this time of year, right up to the Christmas holidays (damn I love that holiday!). And it isn’t just my birthday that I love about it either. I like to think of it as the time when nature slows down and starts to take naps in the afternoon. The air is crisper, cozy sweaters are required, favourite flannel jam pants are pulled out of the closet, the apples are at their absolute best, fewer re-runs are on television….! And pumpkin pie! The air smells golden and the grass turns green again, instead of the other way around.

*sigh of satisfaction*

So despite my misgivings this summer that autumn just might be canceled this year, I wanted to pass on my joy that the signs of autumn are slowing beginning to appear.

  1. I’m so glad you’re enjoying life and the signs of the coming Autumn. In Salt Lake, it’s been cooler but still fairly warm so no signs of that here, still, I’m looking at the mountains and the canyons for hints as well, since I also thoroughly enjoy this time of year too.

  2. I’ll be sure to send it all south then lol!

  3. It is Autumn here in the low desert too…it hasn’t gone over 100 for a week now! And pretty soon the lemons and oranges will be ripe enough to pick 😀
